Here's the thing. One is greenish, one is goldish, both in color and flavor. Ormonde Jayne Woman makes a confection out of things from the woods, DK Gold makes a confection out of a bodacious flower. Neither whomps you, and neither one will ever back down. They combine at your skin with a little hovering. Not suitable for a light pick-me-up, is either one, nor will they knock you down with just half a punch like, say, Shalimar.
They are just creamy enough to be rich without excess. Someday, I'm going to find a way to indulge the love of Woman to get more than I've been able to via swappery. Gold, on the other hand, is well in hand, because you can get edt and edp concentrations online for nearly a song. Back up bottles - check. Gift bottles - check.

I love Gold. I've got my own back up bottle. It's definitely a staple in the perfume pantry.
I love these two, I have a bottle of Gold that I keep wanting to take out for Autumn and I have a beautiful sample of Ormonde Jayne woman that I hoard.
Ormonde Woman is astonishing- I really admire Linda Pilkington and I like all the scents, although they might not all be ones I'd wear. Ormonde woman though I think by rights should become a classic and would be in my top ten of all time. It's so smooth but so bewitching, other- worldly but beguiling, it's modern but it could be from the roaring twenties- or an Arthurian legend.
Gold on the other hand I've never really got. I like some of the other DK scents in those amazing heavy black bottles. Although the lavender is very expensive for what it is it is an almost perfect lavender.
Sorry I've been a bit off the radar- having firewall issues!
I love the headiness of Gold, and Ormonde Woman is just beautiful.
I'm rather excited today... my 14-year-old daughter, who's been dismissive of my perfume habit (as in, "Good grief, Mom, you put a lot of effort into just smelling good!", came home from school and asked if she could spritz some of my perfume.
!!! This is the kid who wears her hair in a ponytail every day, who scorns makeup and any article of clothing that is even vaguely suggestive (which means she dresses rather differently than her peers).
We went through my wardrobe, all my bottles and minis, and she picked Gold. I'm so proud! It smells great on her, too - all heady floral and spice, and very Definitely Girly.
I couldn't agree more. These are two of my favorites, but somehow I never made a connection between the two.
