I need to try again. Some other time. The whole day, I kept thinking: who's trying to be L'Heure Bleue??? It just doesn't seem to be a fair assessment of Al'O, which has such a loyal following.
At least I won't be tempted to throw dollars at it any time soon. (Unless I am seduced by an extrait in a vintage bottle...no...NO...I don't even have the $$ for a decant....)

Huh. That's interesting...of all the scents I would connect with A l'O, L'HB would be WAY down the list.
to my way of thinking A l'O is a bit of a toughie - its very softness and contemplative nature renders it difficult to define.
But it is lovely. I cannot wear it in damp, cold weather, though. It depresses me. It's better suited, in my opinion, to a warmer spring day.

Ah, Musette...interesting indeed...because on this last wearing, I decided that there was no way I would again wear A l'O on a bright, warmish day. :)
Funny...because it is precisely a contemplative quality in A l'O that made me think that.
I'd go to En Passant instead...because its in & out haunting suits both the bright day (hinting at the yang to the yin), and the grey day (hinting at yin to the yang). EnP reminds me of the beauty, and fleetingness, of whatever is in front of me.
Gee; I guess that's my current spring haunting scent, then. Maybe Apres l'Ondee will come to that at some point...or AHA! maybe it is the lookingglass scent to EnP. Must get around to writing about those pairs!!
