Good news! The japanese beetles seem to have withdrawn after the aggressive and insistent counter-strikes of a few weeks ago. Look at that healthy dahlia. ::smile::
More good news!! There are still 24 hours to go to the DSH Pandora review and register a comment for a chance to win a sample.

What a beautiful photograph!
that dahl is gorgeous! Is it a dinnerplate dahl? I just saw a Park Princess this weekend that looked to be 14" in diameter, like Steroid Dahlia!
Glad the beetles were routed. I hate those things and rejoice in murderizing them whenever I can!

Thanks, guys.
The dahlia is not dinner plate, but a just touch oversized. Palm-sized, maybe? Those gigantor ones are nearly otherworldly, aren't they?
I did murdelate. Heaven help me, I did murdelate, and someone (Kant?) will disagree, because action was taken on the "needs of the many" principle. Fine, not even that. The "needs of the plants (and I know there are more of you out there anyway)" principle.
I bury my head in the sand, I suppose. Along with the beetle carcasses.
HEY!!!
Get over to the Pandora draw, both of youse! Until noon...
Whose noon? Am I in time - it may be 12.30pm there. Rats! Beetles! Vermin expletives of all kinds!
; - )
Hictific! (that's my charming captcha.)
You were already in!! No worries.
Expletives appreciated. They're...hictific!
A quick off-ish-off-topic question:
Do you dig up your dahl tubers or do you leave them in-ground? I'm usually too lazy to dig stuff up, which is why I shy away from dahls and their ilk...
criznickety! I missed the Pandora draw. Ah, well...will enter the next!
